Lillington Camp

Lillington Camp

On a knoll, situated on the east bank of Moore's Creek, Colonel Alexander Lillington, and the 150 minutemen of the Wilmington Battalion with him, erected protective earthworks around their camp. Archaeological digs have pinpointed the exact location of these earthworks, which have been marked with low mounds of earth.
